Section 1 of 12
Welcome & Preparation
You are warmly invited — never required — to take part. Everything described here is a religious and spiritual practice of SoulTribes International Ministries, not medical or mental-health treatment. Facilitators do not diagnose, prescribe, or provide therapy.
What you may experience
- Changes in perception — sight, sound, taste, touch, or a sense of presence.
- Strong emotion: grief, joy, awe, laughter, tears, or fear.
- An altered sense of time, body, or self.
- Nausea, physical discomfort, or vomiting.
- Anxiety or agitation, which may rise and pass.
- Meaningful imagery, memory, prayer, or insight.
- Fatigue during or after the ceremony.
- Or no noticeable effect at all.
Difficult experiences are possible and are not a sign of failure. No spiritual, healing, emotional, or physical result is promised to anyone.
Before you arrive
- Follow the food and hydration instructions given to you by the ministry.
- Never start, stop, or change a prescription medication without your prescriber.
- Avoid alcohol, cannabis, and non-prescribed drugs in the days before the retreat.
- Arrange transportation in advance. You will not drive until you are released by staff.
- Report promptly: illness, pregnancy, medication changes, significant sleep loss, personal crisis, or substance use.
What to wear and bring
- Layered clothing and a warm jacket (lakeside nights are cold).
- Closed-toe shoes.
- Toiletries and sleeping clothes.
- Prescription medications in their labeled containers.
- A journal and pen.
- A refillable water bottle.
- Pre-approved allergy-safe food, if applicable.
- A shawl, blanket, or small sacred item, if it comforts you.
Please do not bring
Weapons of any kind · unapproved substances · alcohol · valuables · uninvited guests · recording devices for use in ceremony · any undisclosed allergen.
